Abby and I hosted an awesome Halloween party on Saturday and had some rocking costumes show up! We worked really hard on our costumes! I was a roll of sushi (obviously) and Abby was Princess Lolly! Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf came by! With carmel apples! Robin Sparkles and Jessica Glitter! My chef! I think Jake's was the most thrifty, costing only $5 for the chef hat.. And of course we were going to have to make amazing treats for our guests! Chocolate dipped pretzel sticks, skeleton cookies, and, of course, mummy dogs!

The Old Stein Inn in Edgewater, MD just reopened and I couldn't wait to get to this German restaurant fast enough! Imported German beer: Bauernwurst and potato salad...just like Switzerland right? Annnnnd Oompah band! Celebrate Octoberfest? CHECK!
A few weekends ago I spent time with my family where it all started... the Poconos of Pennsylvania. My ancestors settled down in this part of Pennsylvania way back in the day, and we had returned to get together to celebrate the life of my Great Uncle Mac. This was my Grandmother's brother who recently passed away: Check out that picture of my Great Uncle Mac during his time in the Navy! I have a slight obsession with old photos, which is why I had to ask my second cousin for copies of some of these: This picture is of my Great Uncle Mac (left), my Grandmother (right), and my Great Uncle Tommy (high chair). How amazing is this picture? Here is my Great Uncle Tommy and my Grandmother at their brother's memorial service. Over 70 years later. Amazing. (P.S. doesn't my Grandmother look amazing for being 87? Irish genes!) This photo is really amazing. This photo is of my Great Uncle (the baby) being held by his mother (my Great Great Grandmother), pictured with her mother, and her grandfather. Four generations in one photo. I can't get enough! This trip to Pennsylvania really was eye-opening and I really enjoyed watching my Dad and his family interact with family they hadn't seen in forever. Stories were told, inappropriate jokes (it's a McCormick thing) and laughter till our cheeks hurt. When was the last time your family got together? Do you like looking at old photos?
I have told you how much I loooove Pintrest before right? Probably only about 100 times, but I really do. I found this awesome Fall Bucket List template from design finch and I nearly fainted. Ok not really, but I mean a fall bucket list? Hello! Perfect for me! And now I am passing it along to you! This was the template that Shayla used and write up but you can download the template and write in your own bucket list items here! Here is mine! What would you put on your list?
Working out has become almost a thing of the past since I started school again. I would set my alarm to wake up in the morning, knowing that I can't do it that night because I have class, and just convince myself I need sleep more. Needless to say my caloric intake has sky-rocketed from stress and the need for convenient meals.
I am proud to say the past 2 days I have gone to the gym, and it feels great! The best part was both mornings I got to see this awesome view of the sun rising over Eastport. Hopefully this image can keep me motivated every morning to get out of bed! How do you stay motivated? |
