We had planned on collecting a stamp in Newport, at the only remaining colonial synagogue, until we realized the would be closed for actual church services.
We shrugged it off and headed back towards Providence where we stopped at the Roger Williams National Memorial.
Liana became slightly obsessed with Roger Williams, mainly because at the ripe old age of 35 he had already started his own colony/state/invented the idea of separation of church and state. What did you do today?
That's ok, apparently a root ate him. Google it. (our just click my link)
That is until we found out it was closed for the season.....
Then we called the remaining places and found out that many of the places were closed for the season....
Grrrr....
So we headed to the next open site, Minute Man National Historic Park! Dust off those cobwebs, and try and remember learning about Concord and Lexington... the shot heard 'round the world? Ok, Ok, it was the start of the American Revolutionary War people!!
And it was open for stamps!
