Anyways, back to the book. It really was as good as everyone says it is. It really pulls you in and leaves you unable to put down it down. Without giving anything away, the book is a murder mystery written in the present day. It revolves around a family that is full of secrets ( The Vangars), a down on this luck investigative reporter (Mikael), and the girl with the dragon tattoo (Lisbeth) (Duh). After an embarrassing public downfall, Mikael is hired by the Vangar family to investigate the disappearance of a member of the family in 1966. Lisbeth is a strange, pessimistic and lone-wolf type of girl with skills that let me say are less than legal. When Mikael and Lisbeth are thrown together, he enlists her help and expertise to solve the case of the missing Vangar. Alibis fall apart, suspects change, and lives are in danger on every page.
If you like a page turner that will keep you guessing the whole time you are reading it, I would definitely recommend this book. One word of caution however (again, without giving anything away). The story-line contains a lot of, for lack of a better word, "mature" content, and describes some pretty graphic scenes. They don't take away from the story at all, but they are pretty detailed. So prepare yourself for them.
Needless to say, I am going to have to read the other ones....
