I don't know about you, but I never really appreciated wine until after I had graduated from college. Yes we drank wine, but more often than not this wine came in a plastic bag with a spout. I only gained this appreciation after I graduated and really when I moved out on my own to Annapolis. There was something about a great glass of wine before, during or after dinner that really just completed the whole evening.
However, the biggest thing that has gotten me into wine has been the wine trails of Maryland. I know, you must be thinking, "Maryland wine? Really?", but I have to say, I have had some amazing wines in Maryland and it is all thanks to this handy-dandy passport!

You may remember when Abby and I took a little adventure to southern Maryland to experience the Patuxent Wine trails of Maryland. See Maryland has this awesome wine passport that allows you to cross off different wineries around the state and when you reach a certain number, you get discounts on wine and wine festivals! As a 20 something, I can appreciate a discount.
This Memorial Day weekend we decided to avoid the beach traffic and head to a few wineries north of Annapolis, Elk Run and Loew.
Neither one of us had been to either one before and we were ready to enjoy some delicious wines of Maryland.
For a day of wine tasting, it was $5 at Elk Run for 6 wines to taste and then only $3 to taste 9 wines at Loew! That plus a little for gas money, you can have a day out and about $15. I also purchased a bottle of wine for $13 so my day of wine was under $30!
