I was never one of those people who was dying to go to Las Vegas. Growing up my Dad would go once a year for a "basketball" conference (Yea, I am dead serious) and it sounded like fun, but it never stuck out in my mind as a place I had to see.
That was up until about 2 years ago when a group of us decided we wanted to take a trip to Vegas. Most of us had never been, and we were all hyped up on "Hangover" fever. So why not?
We were able to find flights pretty cheap, round trip for about $300. Plus 3 nights at the Excalibur Casino for only...$69!

I honestly had no idea what to expect, but the sights are incredible! I don't think I have ever been to a city with so much to do and see at anytime of night. There really is no sense of time there. Bonus? No open container laws. Come on, you didn't even get to do that in college. They also have buffets that would make your college cafeteria blush.
The 9 of us also decided to splurge and rent a tent by the pool, which came out to only $8 a person.

One word. Stratosphere. An adrenaline junkie must do in Vegas. A roller coaster located on top of a building that shoots you straight into the sky.
There's also a lot to do outside of the city too which is great if you are looking for a small break, especially during the day. We decided to hop a bus to the Hoover Dam and see Lake Meade. It was only $30 and included travel to and from and tickets to go down into the dam. Definitely worth it to see such an amazing site!
I definitely have some amazing memories from this trip and it wasn't overly expensive either! And come on, you would rather go to Vegas as a 20 something and not for a "basketball conference"... trust me.
Vegas tips:
1. Look for hotel deals: Hotels want to make it cheap for you to get to Vegas. We stayed at the Excalibur at the end of the strip and it was perfect for us. Trust me, you won't be in the room very much!
2. There are tons of free shows for you to see! Every hotel has their own show at a set time, so make it a point to walk down the strip to see them all!
3. BYOB down the strip: No open container = hit the liquor store before you head out and bring your drinks to go and save a little $$
4. Buffet style: There are great ways to get deals on food in Vegas too! We signed up for an all you can eat at over 8 buffets and then splurged on dinner out at TAO on our last night.
